Art Mulder & Sons Trucking has been in business for more than 50 years, and they were looking to combine their transportation and warehousing business because of a need for additional warehouse space. They were familiar with Tippmann Group and Interstate Warehousing because of relationships built over the years in the cold storage industry, and they reached out to Tippmann to discuss their vision of the future and the potential for opening and running a cold storage facility.

Tippmann’s owner/operator experience as the 4th largest PRW company in the United States gave Art Mulder the confidence to take the next step in the process. That led to a new partnership with the Mandich Group, who was also looking for opportunities in the industry. With the help of Tippmann Group, Mandich and AMST put a joint venture together for the new 147,000 square foot Cold-Link Logistics facility.

Multiple rooms are available for frozen storage opportunities for their customers, with more than 11,000 pallet positions and the new building has room on site for additional expansion, with master planning in place to grow to 330,000 square feet when the time is right.

“High integrity groups really feed off one another,” said Michael Mandich, President of Cold-Link Logistics, “and there was a deep level of trust between us, AMST, and the Tippmann Group.”

“Tippmann Group’s attention to detail is really phenomenal,” said Hanz Mulder, Founder of AMST. “They’ve got a longstanding heritage of generational excellence. Pretty much everything they’ve said they’re going to do, they’ve done with excellence, and that means a lot to us.”

Shortly after the completion of phase 1 of the project, construction began on phase 2, a 73,000 square foot expansion with an additional 9,000 pallet positions. The facility now stands at 220,000 square feet with 20,000 pallet positions.
