Blackline Cold Storage

Today’s environment is truly a cold storage “boom.” Demand for new modern space is high, and there has been non-stop investment in this segment of the industrial market. Blackline Partners, based in Houston, TX, a logistics company specializing in rail projects, had interest in making this investment. With no experience in cold storage, they decided to work with Tippmann Group, a partner that is an expert in both construction and warehouse operations. Originally evaluating a project in Florida, Blackline Cold Storage quickly transitioned to Houston where a potential client had immediate needs. Blackline found a site and secured the customer putting this new endeavor in full gear!

The new state-of-the-art refrigerated warehouse offers cooler and freezer flexibility, blast freezing capabilities, and first-class customer service. At 298,000 square feet, it features more than 36,000 pallet positions with multiple temperature zones within the facility, and room for expansion on site up to 600,000 square feet.

Blackline also had a need for a significant amount of blast freezing in this facility, and they wanted it to be the most efficient solution available, so they installed Tippmann Group’s QFR Zone®, featuring Pallet Fit™ doors. The facility has 880 pallet positions of blast freezing capacity in 44 QFR Zones®.

The facility is strategically located at the Port of Houston within Cedar Port Industrial Park, providing their customers with nearby access to both the Bayport and Barbours Cut Container Terminals, and direct access to State Highway 99 (Grand Parkway). The location also includes excellent access to I-10, State Highway 225, and State Highway 146. Rail access is also planned for future expansions at the facility.
