Cooper Farms is a family-owned company which has been in the poultry industry since 1938, and is currently in its third generation of family members running the company.
Cooper Farms had been thinking about building and running their own distribution center for several years. They were attracted to a similar, family-owned business model with Tippmann Group. “Their reputation in the field of cold storage management played a big factor in it.” said Tom Wisvari, Director of Processing at Cooper Farms. “A lot of our partners in the meat processing industry speak highly of Tippmann. The fact that Tippmann builds warehouses and operates warehouses was really important to us.”
The 92,000 square foot facility is highlighted by 10 QFR Zones® for faster and more efficient freezing of their product, along with 3 QTR Zones®, which utilize the same technology to thaw product more quickly and efficiently.
“All the best practices that the Tippmanns have found over the years, we were able to take advantage of and incorporate into our design and into our warehouse,” added Wisvari.
