(Fort
Wayne, IN) - Tippmann Group has landed another major construction
project. Tippmann has signed a contract with Packerland Packing,
a division of Smithfield Foods, to build a 115,000 square foot
refrigerated/frozen distribution center addition to their manufacturing
plant in Green Bay, WI.
The
new facility will serve as a distribution center and cooler/freezer
for finished meat products. It will also include a conveyor, attaching
it to the manufacturing plant. The conveyor will transfer finished
products to the distribution center quickly and easily. The building
is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2004.
This
is the second time in two years that Tippmann Group has worked
together with a division of Smithfield Foods. Tippmann is nearly
finished with a similar project for Moyer Packing in Souderton,
PA, where another finished goods distribution center is being
attached to the plant via a conveyor.
