Rochelle,
Illinois was home to one of Sara Lee’s
dedicated warehouses, and as they were growing
their distribution network, Sara Lee engineers
had started making plans to expand their facility
west of Chicago.
With a successful Macon, GA
project recently completed, Sara Lee turned
to Tippmann again to help with this expansion.
Tippmann Group’s engineers analyzed
what Sara Lee was doing and came up with a
plan that would add 135,000 square feet to
their existing facility. Then, once that was
complete, Tippmann would go into the original
warehouse and re-rack it in order to provide
Sara Lee with the most efficient warehouse
possible.
At the same time, Sara Lee
executives in their nearby Chicago headquarters,
wanted a better facility presence at this
location. Tippmann added a 15,000 square foot
two-story office, designed to match the other
new Sara Lee projects in order to provide
a more consistent and professional atmosphere
throughout their entire distribution network.
This is one of four Sara Lee
projects completed by Tippmann Group within
2 years.
