Kroger was looking to expand their distribution
capabilities in central Indiana, and came
to Tippmann Group to help find the right solution
for their situation.
Several
years ago, Tippmann had built a dedicated
distribution facility for Kroger in Denver,
Colorado, and with Interstate Warehousing,
a Tippmann Group company, as one of their
trusted third-party logistics providers in
central Indiana, Kroger knew that Tippmann
Group had both the expertise and the capability
to deliver what they were looking for.
With
a very aggressive timeline in mind, Kroger
chose Tippmann Group for the project, partly
because of Tippmann’s track record for
building high quality facilities with quick
turnaround time.
The
110,000 square foot expansion was designed
to help continue the growth of the Shelbyville
KMA in Indiana. Included were additional cooler
and dock space in the warehouse, and an employee
services building featuring a new locker room,
break room and equipment parking/charging
room.
“This
project required strict adherence to timeline
while also minimizing business interruption
to existing operations,” said Phil Dammarell
of the Kroger Company. “Tippmann Group
successfully managed both of these requirements
and delivered exactly what we needed—on
time and on budget.”
