Gordon
Food Service was looking to break into a new
business model to continue their growth in
the foodservice industry. They needed a cost-effective
distribution facility which was highly flexible,
in a great location, able to expand quickly
when the need arises, and they needed a fast-track
construction team to get it up and running
as quickly as possible.
GFS and Tippmann Group already
had an existing relationship, based on a successful
prior construction project in Brighton, Michigan,
so they knew Tippmann could meet all of their
needs on the project.
The facility was designed
to hold multiple temperatures in order to
accommodate Gordon’s frozen, refrigerated,
and dry products, and was designed with the
ability to expand any of those three areas
as the business grows.
The project was completed
in six months, and was being built simultaneously
with another GFS facility in Greenville, South
Carolina, also designed and built by Tippmann
Group.
